Was the founder and Khan or ruler and posthumously declared Khagan or emperor of the Mongol Empire, the largest contiguous empire in history. Temujin was related on his father's side to Qabul Khan, Ambaghai and Qutula Khan who had headed the Mongols. During his rise to power the conquests were; the Western Xia Dynasty, the Jin Dynasty, the Kara-Khitan Khanate, the Khwarezmid Empire, Georgia and Volga Bulgaria, 2nd time the Western Xia and Jin Dynasty coalition, where he passed, under him the Mongol Empire was governed by a civilian and military code, called the Yassa. He divided his empire among his sons Ogedei, Chagatai, Tolui, and Jochi before he passed.
