All information is only probable as no known pictures or records exist and little is known about him, was a navigator and maritime explorer credited with discovery of the Americas in 1492, on 8/3/1492 he sailed with the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria ships and first found the Americas but, didn't find North America until his third voyage in 1498. It is believed others had visited the Americas before Columbus, he sailed for the Americas under the flag of Spain and the monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, Columbus was made Admiral of the Seas. If Columbus discovered any new islands or mainland, he would receive many high rewards, in terms of power, he would be given the rank of Admiral of the Ocean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and appointed Viceroy and Governor of all the new lands, at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Columbus
